“Dharma Santi serves as a moment to forgive each other, strengthen brotherhood, and uphold the values of dharma (virtue) in our lives,” he remarked in a video speech broadcast during a national Dharma Santi event in Denpasar, Bali, on Friday.

He urged Indonesian Hindus to move forward in harmony, peace, and unity after performing Nyepi rituals.

The president then drew on the scriptural dictum Tat Tvam Asi, widely interpreted by Indonesian Hindus as a philosophical expression that encourages mutual respect.

He also endorsed the Balinese Hindu concept Tri Hita Karana, which teaches believers to nurture harmonious relationships with God, fellow humans, and the natural environment.

“We are a great nation living in harmony amid diversity. Our people hold high regard for tolerance and differences; we remain united despite our diversity,” Prabowo affirmed.

The head of state expressed confidence that the Hindu community would continue to play a vital role in safeguarding social harmony and national unity and in leading Indonesia toward prosperity through cooperation and compassion.

“Let us all work together to build a just and prosperous Indonesia,” he concluded.

I Made Susila Adnyana, chair of the organizing committee, explained that the Indonesian Hindu Dharma Society (PHDI) raised the Sanskrit phrase Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, meaning “the world is one family,” as the theme for this year’s Dharma Santi.

He said the theme aligns with President Prabowo’s call for stronger unity and connections among humans.

“Dharma Santi promotes stronger brotherhood, forgiveness, and interfaith harmony across Indonesia. Through this event, we seek to foster mutual respect and tolerance, in line with the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” he remarked.
