Muhammad Nasir Djamil, a member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), has requested President Prabowo Subianto to immediately evaluate his line of ministers. This step is considered vital to ensure that the policies and political relations of the President’s aides do not create loopholes for practices of corruption, collusion, and nepotism (KKN).

Nasir Djamil emphasised that this evaluation is urgent given the recent legal cases involving state officials. He noted that the President needs to conduct a deep review, not only of the policies issued but also of the ministers’ proximity to certain parties that could potentially trigger KKN practices.

“Based on the experience of the Deputy Minister of Manpower and several state officials, President Prabowo needs to evaluate his ministers regarding their policies and their closeness to parties where KKN could occur,” Nasir stated on Wednesday.

Nasir believes this cabinet evaluation aligns with President Prabowo’s frequent commitments to eradicating corruption. He reminded the public of the President’s promise to fight corruption without bias, a pledge Prabowo previously made directly before members of the DPR RI and DPD RI.

At that time, the President issued a stern warning to his aides to remain cautious in their actions. “He has already warned his subordinates to be careful and not to trifle with actions that lead to corrupt criminal acts,” Nasir asserted.

Furthermore, Nasir views that the promise of corruption eradication must be accompanied by strict supervision within the government environment. Evaluating ministers is seen as a strategic instrument for the President to ensure the cabinet operates within the corridors of clean and transparent governance.

Nasir’s statement comes in response to the Corruption Eradication Commission’s (KPK) investigation into alleged corruption in the land sector. In that case, four individuals have been named suspects, allegedly possessing close ties to parties within the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN).
