President Prabowo Travels from Central Java to Jakarta via Nusantara Explorer Train in Just 4.5 Hours

On his return journey, the Head of State opted to use the Nusantara Explorer train, a premium service that is currently undergoing trial stages. President Prabowo Subianto returned to Jakarta after completing a series of working visits in Central Java province on Thursday (30/07/2026). During the return trip, the President chose the Nusantara Explorer premium train.

The Nusantara Explorer departed Central Java at approximately 17:05 WIB, travelling to Jakarta with a duration of around 4.5 hours. President Prabowo arrived at Manggarai Station in the evening after concluding his working agenda.

The use of the Nusantara Explorer by President Prabowo was part of his official travel itinerary following several work agendas in Central Java. The presence of this train, which is still in its testing phase, has drawn attention as an innovation in rail-based transport services that adopts a premium concept while promoting national cultural identity.

The Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, explained that the use of the Nusantara Explorer is part of President Prabowo’s directive to strengthen the national tourism sector through the development of railway-based tourism services.

According to the Minister, PT Kereta Api Indonesia already possesses a business unit providing tourist train services. However, the President has requested that these services be further strengthened through the development of new carriages integrated with Indonesia’s premier tourist destinations.

The use of the Nusantara Explorer during President Prabowo’s working visits, both to and from Batang Regency, illustrates the direction of national tourism transport development, which aims to prioritise not only connectivity but also to provide a high-class travel experience that showcases Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage.
