President Prabowo to visit Lampung on Wednesday to inaugurate regional hospital

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to undertake a working visit to Krui, Pesisir Barat Regency, Lampung, on Wednesday (10/6), to personally inspect and inaugurate the regional public hospital (RSUD) in the area. The plan for the president’s working visit to Krui was conveyed by Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, who met with President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon. ‘Tomorrow he (the President) is inviting me to Krui, West Lampung, and asked if I wanted to come along to inaugurate the hospital,’ Budi Gunadi said, explaining the content of his meeting with the President. During the meeting, which lasted over an hour, Minister Budi Gunadi reported on the development of three presidential priorities under the ‘quick wins’ programme: the free health screening programme (CKG), tuberculosis case management, and the construction of 66 regional hospitals across Indonesia. ‘Twenty of those have been completed, and 12 are already operational. So he (the President) said he wants to see them, and that is the plan for the visit,’ the minister stated. Budi also dismissed rumours that his arrival at the palace was related to a cabinet reshuffle, particularly for the finance minister post. After meeting the president, Budi confirmed he is still serving as Health Minister. ‘Still serving as Health Minister,’ Budi replied briefly. Budi Gunadi arrived at the Presidential Palace around 17:00 WIB and finished his meeting with President Prabowo at approximately 18:45 WIB. At the same time, President Prabowo also held a meeting with the Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, senior economist and former Finance Minister Chatib Basri, DEN member and Executive Secretary Septian Hario Seto, and DEN member Mochammad Firman Hidayat. In addition to receiving reports from the Health Minister and the DEN, President Prabowo also received a report from the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait. In a separate meeting, President Prabowo also heard reports from Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Indonesian Military Commander General Agus Subiyanto, Deputy Military Commander Lieutenant General Tandyo Budi Revita, the chiefs of staff, and senior figures within the military and Ministry of Defence. Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, President Prabowo received letters of credence from nine ambassadors of friendly nations, including Guatemala’s Ambassador to Indonesia Manuel Estuardo Roldan Barillas, Qatar’s Ambassador Sultan bin Mubarak Saad Al-Dosari, Kenya’s Ambassador Abdirashid Salat Abdile, Fiji’s Ambassador Ratu Isoa Delamisi Tikoca, Morocco’s Ambassador Redouane Houssaini, Portugal’s Ambassador Maria Gabriela Vieira Soares de Albergaria, Panama’s Ambassador Bernardo Brea Rodriguez, North Korea’s Ambassador Hong Kwang Il, and Mozambique’s Ambassador Antonio Rodrigues Jose.
