Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has stated that President Prabowo Subianto will soon sign a Presidential Decree (Keppres) regarding the appointment of a new Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus). Speaking at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday, Prasetyo indicated the decree is expected to be signed within one to two days following deliberation by the Final Assessment Team.

“We have also requested time for discussion in accordance with the Final Assessment Team’s mechanism, and God willing, within 1-2 days there will be a decision and the President will sign the decree appointing the new official,” he said.

Prasetyo explained that Attorney General ST Burhanuddin had submitted a name for the Jampidsus post to the President last week, following the resignation of Febrie Adriansyah from the position. In addition to the Jampidsus role, the decree also includes proposals for the appointment of several other officials within the Attorney General’s Office.

However, Prasetyo declined to disclose the names before the decree is signed. It was previously confirmed that the Head of the Asset Recovery Agency at the Attorney General’s Office, Kuntadi, is among the candidates proposed by the Attorney General to fill the Jampidsus position.

Febrie Adriansyah resigned from his post as Jampidsus early on Saturday, 11 July. On the same day, he was named a suspect in an alleged corruption and money laundering case. The case is now being handled by the Attorney General’s Office after being transferred from the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps.
