President Prabowo to promptly renovate all puskesmas in Indonesia

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed his commitment to renovating all puskesmas in Indonesia during a working visit to Miangas in the Talaud Islands, North Sulawesi, on Saturday. Monitored through a live broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta on Saturday, President Prabowo stated that he had directly inspected the condition of health service facilities on this outermost island. He revealed that several puskesmas were known to have never been renovated for decades. “I saw several puskesmas earlier, the Minister of Health whispered to me that for so many years since the time of Pak Harto (President Soeharto), the puskesmas have not been repaired. We will repair all puskesmas in Indonesia, soon,” said President Prabowo. According to him, the visit to Miangas provided a real picture of the needs for health infrastructure development in the regions. “Finally, I am grateful that I could see all the conditions and hopefully we will soon make improvements,” stated President Prabowo. In addition, the President will carry out the revitalisation of schools and provide supporting facilities such as digital learning panels, telecommunications devices, and free internet for schools. The government will also soon build the Red and White Fishermen’s Village/Kampung, including in Miangas. This development will facilitate the provision of fishing vessels and cold storage warehouses.
