President Prabowo to Perform Eid al-Adha Prayer in France During State Visit
President Prabowo Subianto will perform the Eid al-Adha prayer for 1447 Hijriah, scheduled for Wednesday, 27 May 2026, in France. The head of state is currently on his third visit to France in five months.
Deputy State Secretary Juri Ardiantoro confirmed the state visit when asked about President Prabowo’s prayer arrangements. ‘The President already went on a foreign work trip to France yesterday, so he will adjust accordingly as he will still be there on Wednesday,’ he said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.
Juri stated that the location of the President’s Eid al-Adha prayer will depend on the state visit schedule. ‘We will wait and see,’ he added.
Juri declined to elaborate further on the President’s agenda in France, stating that Foreign Minister Sugiono is more authoritative on the matter.
For this Eid al-Adha, President Prabowo has distributed 1,098 sacrificial cows to communities across Indonesia. Juri explained the distribution is split into two schemes.
First, 598 cows are allocated to provincial and regency/city governments. ‘There are 552 regions—38 provinces and 514 regencies/cities—receiving a total of 598 cows,’ Juri said.
Each region will receive at least one cow, except 46 regencies/cities that will receive two. This is because the President’s sacrificial cows must weigh between 800 kilograms and 1.3 tonnes, and 46 regions do not have cows meeting this standard. ‘There are 46 regions without cows of that weight, hence they receive two cows,’ Juri explained.
Additionally, 500 cows are given to educational institutions such as Islamic boarding schools, community leaders, and religious figures. ‘For the regions, 598 cows; for social and religious institutions, boarding schools, and leaders, 500 cows. Total 1,098 cows,’ Juri said.
