President Prabowo to Lead Bhayangkara Day Ceremony on Wednesday
Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to lead the 80th Bhayangkara Day Ceremony at the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Training Facility in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday (1/7).
Head of the National Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, told the media in Jakarta on Tuesday that the ceremony would be presided over by President Prabowo as the inspector of the ceremony and attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Johnny added that guests from ministries, agencies, and stakeholders would also attend the celebration of the Bhayangkara Corps’ new anniversary.
He explained that this year’s Bhayangkara Day carries the theme ‘80 Years of Police Service to the Community’. This theme has underpinned all activities in the series of commemorations held from May to June 2026. ‘The National Police have carried out Bhakti Bhayangkara activities together with the community, such as social services, health services, performance achievements, visits, interfaith remembrance and prayers, competitions and sports weeks, as well as traditional Indonesian wayang performances,’ he clarified.
He continued that the peak of the 80th Bhayangkara Day commemoration on Wednesday (1/7) will feature a parade ceremony, the awarding of honours, a march-past, and an exhibition of domestically produced primary and special equipment. This year’s Bhayangkara Day celebration also feels special as it is being held at the Brimob Training Facility in Cikeas. Previously, Bhayangkara anniversary celebrations were usually held in the National Monument (Monas) area in Central Jakarta.
Johnny explained that the Brimob Training Facility in Cikeas represents the police force’s openness to the public regarding human resources. ‘The National Police’s Brimob Training Facility in Cikeas, Bogor, is an open representation so that the public can see every police duty. There is an education and training process for forming values and character, which is a symbol of improving the quality of human resources as the foundation for professional and modern police services,’ he said.
