President Prabowo to Inaugurate Tawang Station Renovation and Mass Housing Contracts in Central Java

President Prabowo Subianto is undertaking a working visit to Semarang and Batang, Central Java, today. The President’s agenda includes inaugurating the renovation of the Tawang Station in Semarang and conducting a trial of the Nusantara Explorer train.

According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, the President departed for Central Java this morning. The first agenda item is the inauguration of the restoration of Tawang Station, a cultural heritage site originally built in 1914. This marks the first time the station has undergone an official restoration, following a directive President Prabowo issued to the CEO of KAI, Bobby Rasyidin, in 2025.

Following the inauguration, the President will board the Nusantara Explorer train for a trial journey from Semarang Tawang Station to Batang. In Batang, he is scheduled to officiate a mass contract signing event for 62,000 subsidised mortgage houses. The event will be held in a hybrid format, connecting 165 locations across 372 regencies and cities in 36 provinces, with the main event centred in Batang, Central Java.
