President Prabowo to Inaugurate Marsinah Museum in Nganjuk This Month

President Prabowo Subianto has stated that he will soon inaugurate the Marsinah Museum in Nganjuk Regency, East Java, in May 2026.

“This month, I will also travel to Nglundo Village, Nganjuk, East Java, to inaugurate the workers’ struggle named the Marsinah Museum,” said Prabowo in his speech at the May Day event in Monas on Friday, 1 May 2026.

The Head of State said that the government has also elevated Marsinah to national hero status. “We have elevated Mother Marsinah as a national hero,” he stated.

Furthermore, Prabowo also expressed thanks for the invitation to the 2026 May Day event. “I thank you for the invitation to join you all. This is an honour. I believe the working class has always supported me. I became president because of the workers, farmers, and all Indonesian workers,” he explained.

“I am determined, I swear to fight for the interests of the Indonesian people, especially those whose lives are difficult. That is my duty. Our government is not afraid, not hesitant in defending Indonesia’s interests,” Prabowo continued.

For information, President Prabowo Subianto awarded the title of national hero for the 2025 period to 10 figures.

Some of the figures receiving the title include Indonesia’s 2nd President Soeharto, 4th President Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur, and labour activist Marsinah.

The awarding took place at the State Palace in Central Jakarta, exactly on Heroes’ Day, which falls today, Monday, 10 November 2025.

The awarding of the national hero title was carried out based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia (Keppres) Number 116 of 2025 on the Awarding of National Hero Titles.

The following are the ten figures awarded the national hero title for the 2025 period:

1. Abdurrahman Wahid from East Java;

2. Soeharto from Central Java;

3. Marsinah from East Java;

4. Mochtar Kusumaatmaja from West Java;

5. Rahma El Yunusiyyah from West Sumatra;

6. Sarwo Edhie Wibowo from Central Java;

7. Sultan Muhammad Salahuddin from West Nusa Tenggara;

8. Syaikhona Muhammad Kholil from East Java;

9. Tuan Rondahaim Saragih from North Sumatra;

10. Zainal Abidin Syah from North Maluku.
