President Prabowo to Host Thai PM Anutin at Merdeka Palace for Strategic Talks

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to receive an official visit from Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday at 16.30 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).

The arrival of PM Charnvirakul in Jakarta today was confirmed by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya to journalists in Jakarta on Monday.

“This afternoon, Thai PM Charnvirakul will come to Jakarta and will be received by President Prabowo at Merdeka Palace at 16.30 WIB,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy.

PM Charnvirakul’s official visit to Jakarta today is his first since he was officially sworn in as Thailand’s 32nd prime minister in September 2025. It is also the first visit by a Thai prime minister in 15 years.

At the meeting at Merdeka Palace, the two heads of state are scheduled to launch the Indonesia-Thailand Strategic Partnership Roadmap 2026–2030. The cooperation document focuses on three main areas: security, economic development, and socio-cultural affairs.

Last week, the Thai government approved the Indonesia-Thailand strategic partnership document, which will apply for the next five years.

In his meeting with President Prabowo, PM Charnvirakul will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow. Meanwhile, President Prabowo will be joined by members of the Red and White Cabinet, including Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

After concluding his agenda at Merdeka Palace, the Thai PM is also scheduled to attend a Thailand-Indonesia business forum. PM Anutin is also scheduled to deliver a speech at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta on the main theme of ASEAN’s future.

The Thai PM’s visit to Jakarta takes place on 3–4 August 2026.
