President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the 19th Plenary Session of the DPR RI, the Indonesian House of Representatives, for the Fifth Session of the 2025-2026 legislative year, at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday 20 May 2026. His attendance marks a historic moment in the national legislative tradition.

The main agenda is the delivery of the Macro Economic Framework and the Kerangka Pokok-Pokok Kebijakan Fiskal (KEM-PPKF) as the basis for the Rencana Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Negara (RAPBN) for the 2027 fiscal year.

Deputy Speaker Saan Mustopa confirmed the plan. “We intend to present the macro-economic framework and the core fiscal policy directly by the President,” he said at the Parliament Complex on Tuesday 19 May 2026.

Prabowo’s decision to present the KEM-PPKF in person is unusual. Mustopa notes that it is the first time a President has taken on this role directly. In previous administrations, the strategic document on the direction of the economy and fiscal policy was usually delivered by ministers such as the Minister of Finance or the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs.

Beyond the KEM-PPKF, the DPR has prepared several other items for discussion at tomorrow’s plenary. The KEM-PPKF presentation is a crucial initial stage in the budget formulation cycle, and the document will guide the DPR and Government in shaping the budget posture to reflect national development priorities under President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership.

DPR Speaker Puan Maharani outlined strategic oversight issues to be addressed, including security and defence (the TNI), energy, and the protection of victims of sexual violence.

The Twelfth Plenary Session of Session III for the 2025-2026 legislative year approved the nomination of Adies Kadir as a candidate for the Constitutional Court (Hakim MK) from the DPR.

Endipat Wijaya, Chair of the Working Committee on Airspace Management (Pansus RUU Pengelolaan Ruang Udara), said the bill comprises eight chapters and 63 articles, agreed by the government and the DPR.

The 2025-2029 Prolegnas has been set at 198 bills, with 52 bills in the 2025 Priority Prolegnas and 67 bills in the 2026 Priority Prolegnas, plus five open cumulative bills.

DPR Speaker Puan Maharani emphasised that the revision of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Law (RUU TNI) has proceeded in line with the applicable procedures.

Deputy Chairman of Commission I, Dave Laksono, urged a comprehensive evaluation of Indonesia’s overseas protection system for Indonesian workers following a string of cases in Malaysia, Somalia, and issues surrounding Global Sumud.

The DPR supports steps by the government through the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry (ESDM) and the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) to delay royalty adjustments and export duties.

Commission VIII reminded Indonesian Hajj pilgrims to be vigilant against heatstroke amid extreme heat in Mecca and Medina, and to maintain health and hydration.

The DPR highlighted vigilance against hantavirus in Indonesia, noting 23 positive cases since 2024, and called on the government to strengthen education and prevention.

Commission IX aims to complete discussion of the Employment Bill (RUU Ketenagakerjaan) before October 2026, in line with a Constitutional Court decision and the President’s commitments.
