President Prabowo to Address 2,600 Lecturers at National Convention

President Prabowo Subianto attended the National Convention on Science, Technology, and Industry (KSTI) to provide a briefing to around 2,600 rectors, lecturers, researchers, scientists, and university representatives alongside the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). The event was held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Friday evening. The President arrived at the JCC at approximately 4 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Also in attendance were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. A bag containing several books was provided at each participant’s table, including one titled ‘Presiden Solusi’, authored by the President’s Special Staff for Communication and Policy Analysis Dirgayuza Setiawan, Special Staff for Strategic Data Analysis Agung Gumilar Saputra, and Head of the Government Communication Agency Muhammad Qodari. The National Convention runs for three days, from 26 to 28 June 2026, under the theme ‘Strategy for Economic Independence and Welfare in Indonesia’. The programme includes symposiums and panel discussions on agriculture, energy, economy and finance, food security, maritime affairs and fisheries, downstream processing, and industry. On Sunday (28 June), the event will continue with the launch of the 2026 research roadmap and agenda by Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto together with Head of BRIN Arif Satria. President Prabowo is scheduled to close the series of events at 10 a.m. Western Indonesia Time.
