President Prabowo Subianto has extended his thanks to all members of the 2026 Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) for the smooth implementation of the pilgrimage for Indonesian worshippers. The President also conveyed his gratitude to the Ministry of Hajj, Commission VIII of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), the Hajj Supervisory Team (Timwas), and other ministries and agencies involved in the 2026 Hajj operations.

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, who also serves as the Presidential Spokesperson, relayed the President’s message during a press conference at the main gate area of Prabowo’s private residence, Padepokan Garuda Yaksa, in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Wednesday afternoon.

‘The President, personally and on behalf of the government as both Head of Government and Head of State, expresses his thanks to the entire ranks of the Ministry of Hajj, the Deputy Minister of Hajj and all staff, and also extends his thanks to the leadership of the DPR RI and Commission VIII for the successful organisation of this year’s Hajj,’ Prasetyo said. He added that the President also thanked all officers, numbering around 2,000, who carried out their duties with full discipline, dedication, and spirit to ensure the best service for all pilgrims.

Prasetyo affirmed that the success of the 2026 Hajj was the result of cooperation from all parties. President Prabowo also prayed that all Indonesian pilgrims would achieve a mabrur Hajj and receive blessings from their worship.

Earlier that afternoon in Hambalang, President Prabowo received the Hajj Supervisory Team, Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, and Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak to receive an evaluation report on the 2026 Hajj implementation. Prasetyo noted the meeting lasted approximately two and a half hours.

Chairman of the 2026 Hajj Supervisory Team, who is also Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, stated after the meeting that service improvements initiated by the government were realised under President Prabowo’s leadership. He detailed that these enhancements included cheaper Hajj costs compared to previous periods and improved services for pilgrims.

‘Almost 17,000 regular pilgrims are now accommodated in Zone 1, around the Nabawi Mosque in Madinah, staying in five-star hotels. We heard testimonials from pilgrims saying, “Sir, we never imagined staying in such a nice hotel, being able to perform the Hajj pilgrimage in a five-star hotel not far from the mosque,”’ Cucun said. He added that improvements were also evident in the catering services, with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah successfully negotiating with catering companies to provide more diverse menus suited to Indonesian tastes.
