President Prabowo Subianto received the Commander of the TNI, General Agus Subiyanto, and the Deputy Commander of the TNI, Lieutenant General Tandyo Budi Revita, at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, 9 June 2026.

The meeting discussed the progress of various strategic TNI programmes that support equitable development and the improvement of public welfare throughout Indonesia.

During the meeting, President Prabowo was accompanied by Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Muhammad Herindra, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy explained that the TNI Commander and the Chiefs of Staff reported on several achievements of programmes implemented by the TNI.

“In the meeting, the Commander and the Chiefs of Staff reported on the progress of various strategic programmes carried out by the TNI, including achievements that directly support equitable development and the improvement of community welfare,” said Teddy in a statement, quoted on Wednesday, 10 June 2026.

One of the reported programmes concerns the provision of electricity access for communities in Papua, particularly in the mountainous regions. The programme to bring electricity to Papua, managed by the TNI Army, continues to show positive progress and has now reached more than 200 villages.

Furthermore, the construction of the Garuda Suspension Bridges, which serve to connect villages in various regions of Indonesia, is also ongoing. “Currently, it is approaching 2,000 points,” stated Teddy.

Furthermore, Teddy noted that the TNI continues to enhance piping programmes and the construction of boreholes in areas experiencing limited access to clean water. As of June 2026, the construction of these facilities has approached 2,000 locations, benefiting approximately one million citizens in various regions.
