President Prabowo Summons Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani to Discuss Danantara Direction and SOE Leadership
STOCKWATCH.ID (JAKARTA) – President Prabowo Subianto summoned Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Roeslani, who also serves as Head of BKPM and Head of the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI), for a meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, 8 May 2025.
Rosan explained that the meeting discussed the investment direction of Danantara and an evaluation of the performance of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) under its management. He also noted that President Prabowo paid particular attention to the process of selecting SOE leaders.
"The President said those chosen should be the best brains, the best talent available, based on meritocracy — meaning the very best," Rosan said.
Rosan added that the President wants SOE leaders to come from the most capable individuals who also possess a strong sense of patriotism. "If you love your country, you won't engage in negative activities such as corruption and the like," he explained.
Regarding reports of postponed general meetings of shareholders (RUPS) and corporate actions at non-listed SOEs, Rosan confirmed this was the case. He said the step was taken so that Danantara could better oversee company operations.
"It comes back to value creation — Danantara has targets that have been set out," he said.
Rosan affirmed that communication and coordination with the President would continue, emphasising that this was important to ensure every Danantara strategy remained aligned with the national development vision.
