President Prabowo Subianto's 13 Cattle Donated for Eid al-Adha Sacrifice in East Kalimantan
Samarinda (ANTARA) - The East Kalimantan Livestock and Animal Health Service has confirmed the province has once again received 13 cattle donated by President Prabowo Subianto for the celebration of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah. ‘Alhamdulillah, East Kalimantan has received this cattle sacrifice donation, a remarkable policy from the central government, particularly the President,’ said acting head of the East Kalimantan Livestock and Animal Health Service, Fadli Sufiani, in Samarinda on Tuesday. The agency is currently compiling field selection results involving local farmers, farming groups, and various livestock business operators in the region. ‘We are grateful that all livestock prepared by our farmers fully meet the standards required by the President’s Secretariat,’ he added. He stated that the presidential cattle donations will be distributed to various mosques in accordance with the governor’s decree for provincial-level implementation. Meanwhile, the process of determining recipient mosques at the regency or city level is entirely the authority of the respective regents and mayors. ‘Therefore, we are not involved in determining local recipient mosques, but the presidential cattle donation for East Kalimantan will be delivered at the Islamic Center Mosque,’ he added. Fadli noted that among the 13 cattle, one male sacrificial animal is the largest, weighing 1.07 tonnes live. The giant bull named Bejo belongs to Mujianto, an experienced local breeder from Tanah Merah Village, Samarinda City. ‘It is a Brahman Cross, a crossbred cattle meticulously cared for by its owner,’ Fadli said. Mujianto, a Samarinda breeder, has long raised livestock and has a particular hobby of growing his cattle to giant sizes.
