President Prabowo Subianto to Preside Over Pancasila Birth Anniversary Ceremony, Traffic Diversions Implemented Around Taman Pejambon
Jakarta, KOMPAS.com – Police will implement traffic management measures for the Pancasila Birth Anniversary ceremony at Gedung Pancasila on Taman Pejambon Street, Senen, Central Jakarta, on Monday, June 1, 2026.
President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto will attend and serve as the ceremony inspector.
Inspector Erlyn Sumantri, Head of Public Relations for Jakarta Pusat Metro Police, stated that traffic diversions will commence at 10:00 WIB when the ceremony begins.
‘According to the Jakarta Pusat Police Traffic Unit, traffic diversions will be in place, but currently traffic is still flowing normally,’ Erlyn said in a text message to KOMPAS.com on Monday.
The first diversion point is for vehicles approaching from West Lapangan Banteng Street towards Taman Pejambon Street, which will be directed straight ahead to South Lapangan Banteng Street.
‘Vehicles coming from Kwini area towards Taman Pejambon Street will be rerouted to South Lapangan Banteng Street, then towards Dr. Wahidin Street,’ Erlyn explained.
Drivers are urged to remain cautious and follow traffic officers’ instructions around the ceremony site to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Based on KOMPAS.com’s observations at 08:30 WIB, traffic around National Monument (Monas), Medan Merdeka Street, Lapangan Banteng area, and Gedung Pancasila was busy but not congested.
Traffic congestion was observed near Medan Merdeka Timur Street heading towards Menteng due to queues at Tugu Tani intersection.
Meanwhile, queues formed at the traffic light junction from Tomang direction on Suryapranoto Street towards Ir. H. Juanda Street.
Police directed vehicles heading to the ceremony to reach parking areas without causing traffic disruptions for other road users.
No traffic management measures were visible around Gedung Pancasila or Monas at the time of reporting.
Only a lane narrowing was in place on Taman Pejambon Street directly in front of Gedung Pancasila, as the leftmost lane and pavement were occupied by ceremonial troops and presidential security teams.
