President Prabowo Subianto Launches B50 Biodiesel Programme

President Prabowo Subianto, accompanied by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, and Pertamina CEO Simon Aloysius Mantiri, directly observed the implementation of the Mandatory B50 Biodiesel Programme at the KM 57 Rest Area on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road in Karawang, West Java, on 9 July 2026. The B50 programme, which mandates a 50 per cent blend of biodiesel in diesel fuel, is designed to reduce dependence on fuel imports, strengthen the added value of national natural resources, and maintain economic and energy resilience in Indonesia. President Prabowo delivered a speech at the launch event, underscoring the government’s commitment to energy self-sufficiency and the downstream processing of domestic commodities.
