President Prabowo Subianto greeted with state ceremony atLes Invalides
President Prabowo Subianto was welcomed with a solemn state ceremony upon arriving atLes Invalides in Paris, France, on Thursday at 15:30 local time. Dressed in a grey suit and black peci, he was greeted by French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu upon arrival at the site. The ceremony took place in theLes Invalides grounds, where President Prabowo saluted both the Indonesian and French national flags as their respective anthems were played. Following the anthem proceedings, he introduced the Indonesian delegation accompanying the visit, which included Foreign Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Roeslani, Indonesian ambassador to France Mohamad Oemar, and his son Didit Hediprasetyo. After the delegation introduction, President Prabwo mounted a French military command vehicle to inspect the honour guard. From there, he saluted the neatly arranged troops. Following the inspection, the presidential convoy headed to theÉlysée Palace accompanied by 146 mounted and 27 motorised French military personnel. This week’s visit to France, which had been delayed, was made in response to an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron. Macron had previously extended the invitation during Prabowo’s last Paris visit last month, suggesting a return in late May, which Prabowo undertook this week. The state visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations.
