Residents of Southeast Sulawesi (Sulawesi Tenggara) are set to receive special attention from President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah / 2026. A total of 18 sacrificial cattle will be distributed by the Head of State to be allocated across the Bumi Bahteramas region.

Governor Andi Sumangerukka confirmed that the assistance is a manifestation of the President’s concern for equitable happiness on the day of sacrifice. Each district and city in Sultra is expected to receive a share of the aid, with the province itself also receiving support, bringing the total to 18 cows to be sacrificed this year.

‘The President is providing sacrificial cattle for every district and city. The province will also receive assistance, so a total of 18 head of cattle will be sacrificed this Eid al-Adha year,’ ASR said during an interview in Kendari on Friday (22 May).

Currently, the Sulawesi Tenggara Provincial Government is carrying out on-site verifications to determine the distribution points. The step is taken to ensure that the sacrificial meat truly reaches eligible recipients and complies with the applicable criteria.

‘Locations meeting the criteria are being verified now. Later the entire aid will be handed over to the community after the slaughter process,’ added the man known as ASR.

Regarding the eight head of cattle personally donated, ASR explained that distribution will be concentrated at several strategic points in the regencies and Kendari City. One main location that has been confirmed is Masjid Raya Al Kautsar Kendari.

‘There are already several distribution points, both in the regencies and in Kendari City. One of them is Masjid Al Kautsar,’ he said.

Through the synergy between Central Government assistance and this regional initiative, the Sulawesi Tenggara Provincial Government hopes the spirit of sharing and togetherness on Eid al-Adha 1447 H can be felt by all segments of society, while also strengthening social ties in Southeast Sulawesi.
