President Prabowo selects 'Dragon Ball' giant cow for Cimahi's Eid al-Adha sacrifice
Cimahi — A giant cow owned by Selvi Widia (21), a young farmer from Jalan Rancabentang, Cibeureum Village, South Cimahi District, Cimahi City, West Java, has been selected by President Prabowo Subianto for sacrifice during Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah.
The cow, named Dragon Ball and of the Limousin Cross breed, weighs 1.1 tonnes live weight, stands around 160 centimetres tall, and is three years old.
President Prabowo’s choice of sacrificial cow followed strict health, weight, and height criteria set by the Presidential Secretariat (Setpres).
The handover of the sacrificial cow by President Prabowo took place on Monday, 25 May 2026, conducted by Cimahi Mayor Ngatiyana. The cow will be sent to DKM Masjid Al-Amin in Cigugur Tengah Village, Central Cimahi District, Cimahi City.
‘Yes, alhamdulillah, I’m honoured to have my cow selected as the presidential sacrifice. It’s the first time. It’s a Limousin Cross weighing 1.1 tonnes named Dragon Ball,’ Selvi told reporters.
The selection process for her giant cow to be a presidential sacrifice was lengthy. Selvi initially registered Dragon Ball, and it was chosen after undergoing a series of selection stages and health checks.
These included blood tests, foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), lumpy skin disease (LSD), and faecal examinations to confirm it was healthy and suitable for presidential sacrifice. Selvi and the Presidential Secretariat agreed on a price of Rp 115 million for the giant Dragon Ball cow.
‘The process was lengthy, with rigorous checks from start to finish. I’m grateful it was chosen as it met the President’s requirements. This is the first time,’ Selvi said.
She purchased the cow from its breeding stage in East Java. Dragon Ball has been cared for like her other cattle to ensure healthy growth.
Regular checks, vitamin supplements, daily care including bathing and feeding with green forage and concentrates ensured it grew as expected. ‘We’ve raised it from a calf, tending it for three years. The breeding came from East Java,’ she added.
Cimahi Mayor Ngatiyana stated that the presidential sacrificial cow would be donated to residents of Cigugur Tengah Village. He explained the rationale behind selecting the location for the donation.
‘We are simply following instructions to distribute the sacrificial animal to designated communities. One such area is densely populated and in need of assistance. This time, it’s RW 04 in Cigugur Village,’ he said.
Cimahi City Government praised President Prabowo for consistently providing sacrificial cows during Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah. Last year, a local farmer’s cow also received similar assistance.
‘On behalf of Cimahi City Government, we thank President Prabowo Subianto for his attention to the community, especially during this sacrificial occasion. We hope the Limousin cow named Dragon Ball benefits all residents of Cimahi,’ he said.
