President Prabowo Scheduled to Visit Three Areas Affected by Flores Earthquake

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to visit three areas affected by the earthquake in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, on Wednesday (26/8). Komodo Airport in Labuan Bajo is making preparations to welcome the President’s arrival. The President plans to land at Komodo Airport before continuing his journey by helicopter to several disaster-affected locations.

The three areas planned as destinations for the President’s visit are Nagekeo Regency, East Manggarai, and Manggarai Regency. The visit is being undertaken to see first-hand the condition of communities affected by the earthquake and to ensure that disaster management and the fulfilment of residents’ needs are proceeding well on the ground.

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said President Prabowo will see and experience directly the conditions of communities in the affected areas.

“President Prabowo Subianto will conduct a working visit to the earthquake-affected areas in East Nusa Tenggara on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, to see and experience directly the condition of the community and to ensure that disaster management and the fulfilment of residents’ needs on the ground are proceeding well,” said Prasetyo Hadi.

An earthquake measuring 7.7 in magnitude shook the Flores region on 15 August 2026. The earthquake affected a number of areas in Flores and triggered emergency response efforts by the government together with relevant parties.

During the visit, the President is also scheduled to review the condition of evacuees, damage caused by the earthquake, and the progress of aid distribution and basic services for affected communities. The President’s presence is expected to ensure that post-disaster management proceeds quickly and in an integrated manner, and that the needs of affected communities are promptly met.
