President Prabowo scheduled to attend NU's 2026 Munas-Konbes

Kediri (ANTARA) - The Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) has announced that President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the National Conference of Alim Ulama and Grand Conference of Nahdlatul Ulama, or Munas-Konbes NU 2026, being held in Kediri and Bangkalan. PBNU Secretary General Saifullah Yusuf, known as Gus Ipul, stated that all preparations for the conference are being finalised. The forum will be attended by participants from PBNU and all PWNU (Regional Executive Boards) across Indonesia. “Preparations are ongoing. For the Munas-Konbes, God willing, the President will attend the closing ceremony,” Gus Ipul said in Kediri, East Java, on Saturday. He explained that the opening of the event will be held at Al Falah Islamic Boarding School, Ploso Village, Mojo District, Kediri Regency, while the closing will take place in Bangkalan, Madura. The opening will be led internally, while the closing is scheduled to be attended by President Prabowo Subianto. The closing ceremony will be held at STAI Syaichona Moh. Cholil, Bangkalan, on Tuesday, 23 June 2026. Gus Ipul, who also chairs the Organising Committee for Munas-Konbes NU 2026, said participants from various NU regions across Indonesia began arriving in Kediri on Friday (19/5). By Saturday (20/6), all participants from the various regions had arrived in Kediri. “Starting yesterday, participants have been arriving in stages. By this afternoon, God willing, all participants, both from PWNU and PBNU, will be present in Kediri,” he stated. After registration, participants are scheduled to depart for Pesantren Al Falah, Ploso, in the afternoon to attend the opening ceremony of Munas-Konbes NU 2026. Gus Ipul added that the Munas-Konbes NU 2026 will discuss a number of important agendas, including determining the material for the NU Congress, gathering proposals regarding the location of the congress, and addressing various religious issues. “This forum is an important part of the preparations leading up to the Congress. Besides discussing congress material, various religious issues of concern to NU will also be discussed,” said Gus Ipul. During the event, the sessions will be divided into six commissions. These are the Bahtsul Masail Waqi’iyah Commission, which will convene in the Main Hall of Al-Falah Induk; the Bahtsul Masail Maudluiyyah Commission in the Queen Al-Falah Prayer Room; and the Bahtsul Masail Qanuniyah Commission in the Teras Gubuk Al-Falah Hall. Additionally, there is the Organisation Commission, which will meet in the Main Hall of Al-Falah Putri; the Programme Commission in the Nasrul Ummah Al-Falah II Building; and the Recommendation Commission, which will formulate a number of strategic recommendations from the forum. Meanwhile, Deputy Head of the Security Section for Munas and Konbes NU, Muchamad Nabil Haroen, stated that for security, the committee has prepared a multi-layered security system involving around 400 personnel from various NU autonomous bodies (banom). The personnel come from Ansor, Banser, Pagar Nusa, the Core Troops, the IPNU Development Brigade Corps (CBP), IPNU KPP, and Garda Fatayat. Additionally, Pagar Nusa has the largest contingent, with around 160 members. Gus Nabil, as he is familiarly known, added that all internal security personnel are prioritised from East Java to facilitate coordination during the event. “God willing, the security personnel to be deployed from NU’s internal ranks, namely from NU’s autonomous bodies, will number around 400. For Pagar Nusa alone, there are 160 personnel,” he said.
