President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the 2026 National Consultative Assembly (Munas) of Ulama and the Grand Conference (Konbes) of Nahdlatul Ulama in Kediri and Bangkalan.

The plan for President Prabowo’s attendance was revealed directly by the Secretary-General of the Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU), Saifullah Yusuf, also known as Gus Ipul.

Gus Ipul stated that all preparations for the Munas-Konbes are being finalised. The forum will be attended by participants from the PBNU and all regional NU branches (PWNU) across Indonesia.

“Preparations are ongoing. God willing, the President will attend the closing ceremony of the Munas-Konbes,” said Gus Ipul in Kediri, East Java, on Saturday, 20 June 2026.

He explained that the opening of the event will be held at the Al Falah Islamic Boarding School in Ploso Village, Mojo District, Kediri Regency, while the closing ceremony will take place in Bangkalan, Madura. The opening will be led by internal organisers, whereas the closing is scheduled to be attended by President Prabowo Subianto at STAI Syaichona Moh. Cholil, Bangkalan, on Tuesday, 23 June 2026.

Gus Ipul, who also serves as the Chairman of the Organising Committee for the 2026 NU Munas-Konbes, explained that participants from various NU regions in Indonesia have been arriving in Kediri since Friday, 19 June 2026. By Saturday, 20 June 2026, all participants from various regions had arrived in Kediri.

“Participants began arriving gradually yesterday. This afternoon, God willing, all participants, from both the PWNU and PBNU, will be present in Kediri,” he said.

He added that participants arriving in Kediri are registering at five hotels prepared by the committee according to room assignments. Following registration, participants are scheduled to depart for the Al Falah Boarding School in Ploso in the afternoon to attend the opening ceremony of the 2026 NU Munas-Konbes.

Gus Ipul further noted that the 2026 NU Munas-Konbes will discuss several important agendas, including determining the materials for the NU Muktamar, collecting proposals regarding the location of the Muktamar, and discussing various religious issues.

“This forum is a vital part of the preparations leading up to the Muktamar. In addition to discussing Muktamar materials, various religious issues of concern to NU will also be addressed,” said Gus Ipul.

During the event, sessions will be divided into six commissions. These include the Bahtsul Masail Waqi’iyah Commission, which will meet in the Main Hall of Al-Falah Induk; the Bahtsul Masail Maudluiyyah Commission in the Queen Al-Falah Prayer Room; and the Bahtsul Masail Qanuniyah Commission in the Al-Falah Gubuk Terrace Hall.
