President Prabowo Says Indonesia Welcomes More Investment and Business from China

Indonesia welcomes more Chinese companies to invest and conduct business in the country, will continue to provide a conducive business environment for Chinese companies, and opposes all forms of provocation and opinion manipulation carried out with malicious intent, President Prabowo Subianto said in Jakarta.

Prabowo made the statement on Friday (21/8) when meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and Chinese Defence Minister Dong Jun at his official residence.

Prabowo gave a positive assessment of the role and achievements of the Indonesia-China Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue Mechanism and the 2+2 dialogue mechanism.

He noted that China has succeeded in lifting hundreds of millions of people out of poverty and has achieved major accomplishments in the economy, science and technology, and the military, making it a good example for Global South countries to learn from.

Prabowo said that China treats Indonesia as an equal partner with mutual respect, and provides valuable trust and support to Indonesia.
