President Prabowo Reviews National Electric Motorcycle Ecosystem in Cikarang
President Prabowo Subianto attended the inauguration of the national electric motorcycle ecosystem at the production facility of PT Ilectra Motor Group (ALVA) in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java. Upon arrival, Prabowo immediately inspected a number of electric motorcycles on display.
Prabowo arrived at the location at around 14.00 WIB, accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/CEO of BPI Danantara Rosan Roeslani, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Prabowo and his entourage toured the exhibition area, viewing the electric motorcycles on display while listening to explanations from PT Pindad President Director Sigit Puji Santosa.
Following the inspection, Prabowo proceeded to the inauguration area. Several other cabinet members were also in attendance, including Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kertasasmita, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Indonesian Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Arif Satria.
The electric motorcycle ecosystem inaugurated encompasses industrial and manufacturing development, components and batteries, charging and battery swapping infrastructure, financing, distribution, after-sales services, and strengthening market absorption. PT Len Industri will serve as the lead integrator to orchestrate collaboration among stakeholders in developing the ecosystem.
“The development of this ecosystem is expected to strengthen industrial downstreaming, increase domestic manufacturing capacity and supply chains, and open opportunities for job creation as well as the involvement of SMEs and cooperatives,” said Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi in a written statement.
“The development of electric motorcycles will also be directed towards supporting energy security through reducing dependence on fuel oil and increasing the utilisation of electric energy,” he continued.
