President Prabowo reveals 2027 state budget draft focused on 8 priority programmes
President Prabowo Subianto stated that the Draft State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBN) for 2027 is focused on eight national priority work programmes (PKPN). The eight programmes include food sovereignty; energy and water independence; education; health; downstreaming and industrialisation; infrastructure, housing, and disaster resilience; strengthening the people’s economy and village development; and poverty reduction. The President said, “These eight priorities are supported by strengthening defence and security, law enforcement, governance, accelerating digitalisation, and economic diplomacy.” He conveyed this during the Submission of the Government’s Statement on the Bill on the State Budget for the 2027 Fiscal Year in Jakarta, Friday. The President emphasised that the achievements of the first semester of 2026 serve as a foundation for preparing the 2027 RAPBN. Therefore, the 2027 RAPBN architecture is designed to remain expansively collaborative, targeted, and measurable to further accelerate economic growth and improve people’s welfare. “The synergy of fiscal policy, monetary policy, the financial sector, and Danantara must be increasingly solid,” said the President. He added that flagship programmes must be effective, and social protection programmes must be reliable. “Empowerment for MSMEs must continue to be encouraged. Support for farmers, fishermen, teachers, and vulnerable workers must also be strengthened,” said the President. Furthermore, the President emphasised that the harmonisation of central and regional policies must be improved and strengthened. He also stressed that corruption eradication and law enforcement must be upheld firmly.
