President Prabowo Replaces Head of National Nutrition Agency, Here is Why!
President Prabowo Subianto has officially replaced the leadership of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, following the results of an intensive evaluation of the institution’s performance over the past eighteen months. This strategic move was taken to improve governance discipline, the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOP), and the quality control of food within the flagship Free Nutritious Meal programme.
The Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, confirmed that this change was based on strict monitoring conducted by the President. The government identified several crucial notes that need immediate rectification to ensure the national priority programme operates optimally. “The change serves as a basis for consideration by the President, with the hope that these noted issues can be promptly improved,” said Prasetyo Hadi at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Prasetyo detailed that the evaluation covered various fundamental aspects. The main issues highlighted include discipline in institutional governance and compliance with SOPs. Furthermore, the government is paying serious attention to the consistency of food quality served to the intended beneficiaries. “There are matters concerning discipline in executing SOPs, governance, and the discipline required to maintain the food quality that should have been established by the National Nutrition Agency,” he asserted.
In this reshuffle, President Prabowo has dismissed Dadan Hindayana from his position as Head of the BGN. As his successor, the President has appointed Nani S. Deyang to lead the National Nutrition Agency. Nani will be accompanied by Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono, who have been appointed as Deputy Heads of the BGN, replacing the previous officials, Ludwig Pusung and Sony Sanjaya.
The government has ensured that this leadership transition will not hinder the distribution or implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal programme in the field. Internal audits will continue as part of ongoing monitoring to ensure the BGN performs its functions to the highest standards. “Service to the public must not be disrupted at all. Every work unit within the National Nutrition Agency is expected to continue performing their duties according to their respective responsibilities,” concluded Prasetyo.
