State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, in a statement to the press in Jakarta on Saturday, extended Idul Fitri greetings while explaining the concept of the palace open house, where President Prabowo had directed several days prior that the event should not mandate the attendance of state officials. “He conveyed several days ago that it is not mandatory for officials from ministries or institutions to attend. Because he does not want to trouble them, perhaps they have agendas or family events. So, this afternoon is indeed dedicated to the general public,” said Minister Prasetyo. On this occasion, President Prabowo is also scheduled to directly greet the attending public, following the tradition observed in previous years. “We are not limiting or organising it as usual events. For example, like the 17 August events, we give the opportunity to the public who wish to attend voluntarily; they are welcome as long as space permits, we invite them to enter the palace grounds,” he explained. He stated that the organisation of the palace open house is part of an annual tradition. However, there is an emphasis on simplicity and empathy for the public’s conditions. “As we also conveyed through a circular letter, we urge government officials, ministries, and institutions to reduce open house and halal bihalal activities because, as we all know, many of our brothers and sisters in various regions are still facing difficulties. Therefore, the President has chosen to prioritise the general public,” said Minister Prasetyo. In addition to the general public, President Prabowo is scheduled to receive visits from previous Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia, including the 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and the 7th President Joko Widodo. “Insha Allah, it is planned for this afternoon,” said Prasetyo Hadi.
