Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto presided over the 2026 Pancasila Day ceremony at the Pancasila Building in Jakarta on Monday, 1 June. The president arrived around 9:35am WIB, with the ceremony commencing at 9:45am WIB marked by a trumpet blast. Colonel Didin Nasruddin Darsono served as ceremony commander.

The event was attended by government officials, ministers from the Red and White Cabinet, military and police personnel, community leaders, and students. Also present were former President Megawati Soekarnoputri, Indonesia’s fifth president and chair of the Pancasila Ideology Development Board’s Supervisory Council, former Vice President Jusuf Kalla (10th), former Vice President Ma’ruf Amin (13th), and current Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka (14th).

Prominent VIP guests in the front row included Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra; Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto; Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan; National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo; and Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Agus Subianto. In his address, President Prabowo emphasised that Pancasila emerged from the nation’s experiences, culture, and aspirations to live as one people. He stated that Pancasila serves as a firm foundation for Indonesia and a guide for national life, including the national economy. According to the president, Indonesia’s economy must be based on Pancasila, which prioritises the people, and the nation’s wealth must be maximally utilised by the public.

Alongside the ceremony, the event included reciting the Pancasila text and the preamble of the 1945 Constitution. The 2026 Pancasila Day, themed ‘Pancasila: Unifier of the Nation, Foundation of World Peace’, serves as a reminder that maintaining national unity requires more than slogans—it must be reflected in daily behaviour, including on social media.
