President Prabowo prepares new downstreaming projects at 13 locations
President Prabowo Subianto received the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM as well as Head of BPI Danantara, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Friday (24/4/2026). The meeting discussed the progress of the downstreaming programme planned to be built at 13 locations in various regions of Indonesia.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the government is preparing the construction of the next phase of the downstreaming programme in several areas.
“The next phase of the downstreaming programme will soon be built at 13 locations in Indonesia,” said Cabinet Sec. Teddy in his statement.
In addition to the progress of the downstreaming projects, the meeting also discussed investment plans from several parties in various sectors.
“Several investors who will invest in Indonesia, particularly in the fields of Waste to Energy, Mineral Resources, and Agricultural Industry, Labour-Intensive and Garments,” added Cabinet Sec. Teddy.
He also conveyed the President’s directive that the downstreaming programme should not only focus on the energy and mineral sectors.
“President Prabowo wants downstreaming not only in the energy and mineral fields but also to be expanded into agriculture and fisheries,” said Cabinet Sec. Teddy.
The government assesses that the development of downstreaming in various sectors is expected to increase the added value of natural resources while opening up investment opportunities and jobs in several regions.
