President Prabowo Subianto is preparing 400 future leaders for state-owned enterprises (BUMN) through the intensive Presidential Future Leaders Program (PFLP) 2026, a nine-month training initiative designed to develop strong character and high-level managerial skills for managing national assets.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that President Prabowo emphasised the importance of leadership quality as a determinant of national sovereignty. The programme, directly initiated by the Head of State, will be implemented in three systematic stages. The first phase will focus on character and discipline building over three months, followed by four months of managerial capacity and decision-making training at Danantara Corporate University.

In the final phase, all participants will undertake a two-month internship across various ministries, institutions, and BUMN environments to gain practical experience in government and corporate governance before fully taking on leadership roles in state-owned enterprises.

Regarding the programme’s urgency, Teddy stressed that the initiative is part of the President’s broader vision to establish clean and professional BUMN governance. He noted Indonesia needs leaders with the best combination of heart and mind to address increasingly dynamic global challenges.

“The programme, designed directly by the President, is prepared to shape future leaders of state-owned enterprises,” Teddy said in a statement in Jakarta. “This investment in human resources is the government’s long-term strategy to ensure BUMNs remain resilient economic pillars. Integrity is emphasised throughout all stages of PFLP education,” he added. “This step is part of the government’s major strategy to prepare professional, integrity-driven BUMN leaders capable of addressing Indonesia’s future challenges,” Teddy concluded.
