President Prabowo Praises Pegadaian's Performance at MPR Annual Session

President Prabowo Subianto has praised the performance of PT Pegadaian (Persero) during his address at the 2026 MPR Annual Session in Jakarta on Friday (14/8). The President highlighted the state-owned enterprise’s positive achievements, particularly its significant profit growth in the first half of 2026. As of 30 June 2026, Pegadaian recorded a net profit of Rp6.59 trillion, marking an 84.4 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2025. President Prabowo also emphasised the strategic role of the Bullion Bank in enhancing the added value of gold commodities within the country. Pegadaian, as the first company in Indonesia licensed to conduct bullion business activities, continues to strengthen the national gold ecosystem from upstream to downstream. Damar Latri Setiawan, President Director of PT Pegadaian, stated that the President’s appreciation serves as both an honour and a motivation to further expand the company’s contribution to the national economy. He noted that the company’s gold-based business now manages approximately 153 tonnes, reflecting growing public trust and the potential for further development. Pegadaian remains committed to maintaining its growth momentum and ensuring that the gold ecosystem delivers greater value to society and the national economy.
