President Prabowo: Poverty Alleviation Must Be Based on Science and Rationality

President Prabowo Subianto said that steps to alleviate poverty in an effort to ensure the nation’s revival must be based on science and a rational approach. In a meeting with 150 researchers from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in the central courtyard of the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, President Prabowo stated that there are many talented and intelligent individuals in Indonesia who need to be identified, nurtured, and given the opportunity to develop themselves. “So our approach to the revival of a nation, the ideals of all our founding fathers, including our own ideals, is how to create a country where there is no poverty. How to create a country where there is no injustice. We must approach this with a scientific method, a rational method, not with any method other than rational,” said President Prabowo. “Let us, and I especially invite my team and all of you, when I lead, I prefer to lead with facts, reality, and the actual situation,” he added. To that end, he urged stakeholders to reflect on the realities in Indonesia as a form of introspection and to make improvements based on these facts. Mastery of these two factors is also supported by the quality of education, which can build superior human resources in various fields. “This is the fact and reality that mastery of science and technology, and of course education, is the most critical foundation,” explained Prabowo Subianto.
