The statement was delivered at the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace, attended by United States President Donald Trump and other world leaders in Washington on Thursday local time.

“The achievement of this ceasefire is concrete. We commend it and therefore reaffirm our commitment to send a significant number of troops, up to 8,000 personnel or more if needed,” the president said, as broadcast live on YouTube in Jakarta early Friday.

Prabowo expressed Indonesia’s readiness to deploy thousands of troops to play an active role in the International Stabilisation Force. In his remarks, the president said Indonesia has studied and fully supports the peace plan initiated by President Trump.

The head of state also emphasised that Indonesia’s objective in joining the Board of Peace is to help achieve peace in Gaza, Palestine.

“Indonesia fully agrees with this plan and is fully committed to it. That is why we joined the Board of Peace. We are committed to its success. We understand there will be many obstacles and challenges, but we remain very optimistic,” he said.

According to an official statement, President Prabowo’s participation reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to playing an active role in establishing and strengthening the Peace Council framework as a transitional international mechanism based on the mandate of UN Security Council Resolution 2803 (2025).

Indonesia has expressed its readiness to contribute actively through the International Stabilisation Force under a clear mandate, agreed operational parameters, and in accordance with international law and Indonesia’s national caveats.

Indonesia also supports long-term reconstruction and stabilisation efforts in Gaza while respecting the rights of the Palestinian people and the vision of a Two-State Solution.
