President Prabowo Performs Eid Prayer in Paris; Social Affairs Minister Gus Ipul and Culture Minister Fadli Zon Comment

Social Affairs Minister Gus Ipul stated that President Prabowo Subianto’s state visit to France was undertaken for specific considerations, which he said would benefit Indonesia. ‘The President has specific considerations for conducting visits, both abroad and domestically, and we are confident these will bring benefits to Indonesia in the future,’ he said after performing Eid al-Adha prayer at Jakarta’s Istiqlal Mosque on Wednesday, 27 May 2026. Benefits for the nation are a key factor in the President’s decision to visit various locations, both within Indonesia and abroad. On the same occasion, Culture Minister Fadli Zon said President Prabowo performed Eid al-Adha prayer in France as it coincided with the planned state visit. He stated the President was scheduled to perform Eid prayer in Paris ahead of the state visit itinerary. ‘Last year it was here, this year it coincides with the state visit,’ Fadli Zon said. Fadli added that Eid al-Adha prayers can be performed anywhere, and this year the President chose to do so in France. President Prabowo is scheduled to perform Eid al-Adha prayer at the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Paris, France. ‘President Prabowo is scheduled to perform Eid al-Adha prayer and meet with Indonesian citizens at the KBRI Paris residence,’ said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. Teddy noted that the President’s arrival in Paris marks the commencement of the official state visit, which had been scheduled since last year and rescheduled multiple times.
