President Prabowo Performs Eid al-Fitr Prayer in Aceh Tamiang

President Prabowo Subianto performed the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah prayer in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, after celebrating the takbiran night in Medan, North Sumatra. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the President would conduct the Eid prayer while checking the progress of post-flood disaster management in the region. “We all flew to Aceh, performed Eid prayer there with the local residents, especially. And also to check,” said Teddy, as quoted by Antara on Saturday, 21 March 2026.

Teddy explained that President Prabowo would perform the congregational Eid prayer at a location near the evacuation site for disaster-affected victims. After the Eid prayer, Prabowo would receive reports on the latest developments in disaster management in Aceh from Interior Minister Tito Karnavian and Public Works Minister Dody Hanggono, who had arrived in Tamiang earlier. “Tomorrow, they will report on the progress, and he wants to check directly in Aceh how things are developing,” said Teddy.

President Prabowo began his Eid al-Fitr holiday itinerary on Friday, 20 March 2026. He arrived in Medan, North Sumatra, on Friday afternoon to perform the takbiran night, then departed for Aceh on Saturday morning.

In that agenda, he was accompanied by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency Angga Raka Prabowo.

Additionally, several officials had arrived in Medan earlier to welcome Prabowo’s arrival. They included Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
