President Prabowo Performs Eid al-Adha Prayer in Paris Accompanied by Didit and Teddy

President Prabowo Subianto performed Eid al-Adha prayer at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris, France, on Wednesday (27 May 2026) local time. According to a YouTube broadcast from the Presidential Secretariat, he wore a white shirt, black trousers, and a songkok. Prabowo led the prayer in the front row alongside Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. A presidential statement noted the prayer was led by Fakhruddin Arrozi as imam and khatib. In his sermon, Fakhruddin stated that Eid al-Adha is a festival with both divine and humanitarian dimensions, reminding that the sacrificial ritual symbolises obedience to God and encourages sharing, preserving Islamic identity, strengthening family bonds, and promoting unity, especially for Muslims living abroad. After the prayer, Prabowo and his son Didiet Hediprasetyo shook hands with attendees at the embassy. Prabowo also conversed with one attendee, patting their shoulder. This visit marks Prabowo’s fourth trip to France, following previous meetings on 14 July 2025, 23 January 2026, and 14 April 2026. The official visit aims to strengthen the Indonesia-France Strategic Partnership, which continues to develop through frequent interactions and close rapport between the two presidents.
