President Prabowo Pays Respects to Former Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu at Ministry of Defence

The remains of former Defence Minister General TNI (Ret.) Ryamizard Ryacudu are lying in state at the Ministry of Defence in Central Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto attended the ceremony. On Monday, 1 June 2026 at 8:30 AM WIB, Prabowo arrived at the MoD building. He was dressed in a black suit and entered the premises immediately upon arrival. Accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Prabowo was joined by former Defence Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro and TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, who had already arrived at the Ministry. State Minister Prasetyo Hadi had earlier confirmed Prabowo’s planned visit, stating, “Insha’Allah, that is the plan.” Previously, MoD Information Bureau Chief Brigadier General Rico Ricardo Sirait confirmed Ryamizard’s death at Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital in Jakarta on Sunday, 31 May at around 2:30 PM WIB. “Correct, we have received news of the passing of General TNI (Ret.) Ryamizard Ryacudu today,” Brigadier General Rico stated when asked. From the hospital, Ryamizard’s remains were transported to his family home in Puri Wira Bhakti 1/1D Cikeas, Bogor, where the body was laid to rest and funeral prayers were offered by family and relatives.
