President Prabowo: Pancasila — the Grand Consensus Uniting the Nation

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto stated that Pancasila is a grand consensus, a national agreement enabling Indonesia — with its thousands of islands, hundreds of ethnic groups, languages, and diverse cultures — to live as one nation. During the Pancasila Day 2026 ceremony at the Pancasila Building in Jakarta on Monday, the President said Pancasila emerged from the country’s historical journey, experiences, culture, and aspirations. He emphasised that Pancasila is not merely a historical document or ceremonial slogan. The Head of State noted that the anniversary commemorates the birth of Indonesia’s state foundation, recalling that 81 years ago, President Sukarno presented the foundational ideas at the BPUPKI session.
