President Prabowo Orders Legal Process in Woman's Confinement Case

The case of brutal assault and confinement perpetrated by Taufik Hidayat (30) against his partner, YTR (29), has drawn the attention of President Prabowo Subianto. The Chief of Staff to the President (KSP), Dudung Abdurachman, revealed Prabowo’s message after visiting the victim at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung, West Java.

Dudung visited to ensure the victim’s condition and to convey that the state will oversee the handling of the case, both in terms of the victim’s recovery and the legal proceedings.

“Tonight I am present at Hasan Sadikin Hospital to see the victim, YTR, directly. I have seen her and met with her family. I certainly conveyed that the state is present and cares deeply about her treatment and the subsequent legal process,” said Dudung, as reported on Thursday (25/06/2026).

Dudung also revealed that Prabowo is giving special attention to this case. The President, he noted, has requested that the entire legal process proceed according to the applicable regulations and expressed hope that similar incidents do not recur.

“His message is that everything must be adjusted to the applicable legal procedures. He cares very much about this incident and hopes that it will not happen again,” he said.

Prabowo also urged the public not to hesitate to report any suspected acts of violence within their surroundings. “The appeal to the public is: if you see anything suspicious or unusual, report it immediately to the relevant authorities. This is so that such incidents do not occur outside of supervision. That is all,” Dudung concluded.
