President Prabowo Orders Legal Process in Woman's Confinement Case
President Prabowo Subianto has paid special attention to the case of abuse and confinement perpetrated by Taufik Hidayat (30) against his girlfriend YTR (29). Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Dudung Abdurachman revealed Prabowo’s message after visiting the victim at Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung, West Java. Dudung came to check on the victim’s condition and to convey that the state will oversee the handling of the case, both in terms of the victim’s recovery and the legal process. “This evening I am here at Hasan Sadikin Hospital to see the victim YTR directly. I saw her and met with her family. And of course, I conveyed that the state is present and deeply cares about her treatment and what comes next,” Dudung said. Dudung also disclosed that Prabowo has given special attention to this case. The President requested that the entire legal process be conducted according to the applicable rules and expressed hope that a similar incident would not happen again. “Yes, the message from him is to follow the legal procedures in place. And he is very concerned about this incident, and hopes it will not be repeated,” he stated. Prabowo also urged the public not to hesitate to report any suspected acts of violence in their surroundings. “And an appeal to the public: if you see anything suspicious, anything amiss, report it immediately to the relevant authorities. So that it does not happen outside of supervision. That is all,” Dudung concluded.
