The president made the remarks in an interview after attending the Gaza Board of Peace Summit in Washington, United States, on Thursday local time.

“Let us look at the future plans. They seem very serious. We are determined for the Board of Peace to succeed because it offers hope for peace,” he said.

Prabowo stated that the initiative provides genuine hope for a peaceful solution for the Palestinian people, although he acknowledged that achieving it will not be easy.

According to him, various challenges and obstacles to peace in Gaza had been anticipated from the beginning.

“Although I conveyed in my brief statement that there will be many difficulties ahead - various obstacles and challenges - we must remain determined to achieve success for the Palestinian people,” he said.

In his remarks, Prabowo stressed that all parties involved in the Board of Peace must demonstrate strong determination to ensure the success of efforts aimed at supporting the Palestinian people.

The head of state also underscored the commitment of Muslim-majority countries involved in the initial stage of establishing the Board of Peace.

At a meeting of eight Muslim-majority countries that were first invited to participate in the initiative, all agreed to promote the realisation of lasting peace.

“For us, the only real and long-lasting solution is the two-state solution,” the president said.
