Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from Steve Forbes, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Media, at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, 23 July 2025. The meeting, which lasted more than two hours, discussed economic cooperation opportunities and the strengthening of strategic relations between Indonesia and the United States.

Minister of Investment and Downstream Industries/Head of BKPM, Rosan Roeslani, who accompanied President Prabowo, said the discussion was warm and productive. Prabowo, according to Rosan, also affirmed Indonesia's vision of being open to international cooperation.

"The President shared his view of how Indonesia can become better going forward by cooperating openly with many countries, including the United States," said Rosan at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, 23 July 2025.

Meanwhile, Steve Forbes shared his views on Indonesia's significant future potential. He assessed that the reform measures being implemented by the government would make Indonesia increasingly competitive globally.

"We believe the reforms underway will enable Indonesia to go even further. Like a rocket that slowly lifts off, then begins to move forward. We believe Indonesia is a rocket reaching full speed," said Forbes.

Forbes also emphasised his optimism regarding Indonesia-US trade relations. He expressed anticipation for improved cooperation between the two countries.

"Indonesia is a country that holds hope for the future, and that is what we need right now," said Forbes.
