President Prabowo Leads Simultaneous Sugarcane to Soybean Harvest in East Java
President Prabowo Subianto departed for East Java Province on a working visit on Friday, 17 July 2026. In Malang Regency, the President is scheduled to lead a simultaneous mass harvest as part of TNI synergy in support of the national food security programme.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said that President Prabowo and a limited delegation took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta aboard the Indonesia-1 Presidential Aircraft.
“President Prabowo will lead a simultaneous mass harvest of sugarcane, rice and soybean held at 43 points across Indonesia. This activity is a manifestation of TNI synergy in supporting the acceleration of national food self-sufficiency,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy.
Upon arrival at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base in Malang Regency, President Prabowo is scheduled to proceed directly to the nationally integrated mass harvest. The activity comprises a sugarcane harvest accompanied by the Indonesian Air Force at 8 locations, a rice harvest by the Indonesian Army at 31 locations, and a soybean harvest by the Indonesian Navy at 4 locations.
In addition to leading the simultaneous mass harvest, President Prabowo will also inspect a number of stands showcasing the TNI’s flagship programmes as well as various downstream initiatives that support added value in the agricultural sector and national industry.
“Through this activity, President Prabowo wants to ensure that the strengthening of the food sector is carried out in an integrated manner, from increasing production and providing assistance to farmers, through to downstream processing, so as to deliver greater added value for the welfare of the people,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy continued.
The working visit forms part of the government’s commitment to continually boost agricultural productivity, strengthen downstream processing and realise sustainable food self-sufficiency.
Those accompanying President Prabowo on the flight to East Java Province included Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency Nusron Wahid, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
