President Prabowo Leads Simultaneous Sugarcane to Soybean Harvest in East Java

President Prabowo Subianto departed for East Java province on a working visit on Friday, 17 July 2026. In Malang Regency, the President is scheduled to lead a simultaneous harvest as part of the TNI’s synergy in supporting the national food security programme. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained that President Prabowo and a limited entourage took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, aboard the Indonesia-1 Presidential Aircraft. “President Prabowo will lead the simultaneous harvest of sugarcane, rice, and soybeans carried out at 43 locations across Indonesia. This activity is a manifestation of the TNI’s synergy in supporting the acceleration of national food self-sufficiency,” said Seskab Teddy. Upon arrival at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base in Malang Regency, President Prabowo is scheduled to proceed directly to the nationally integrated harvest. The activity includes a sugarcane harvest accompanied by the Indonesian Air Force at 8 locations, a rice harvest by the Indonesian Army at 31 locations, and a soybean harvest by the Indonesian Navy at 4 locations. In addition to leading the simultaneous harvest, President Prabowo will also review several stands showcasing the TNI’s flagship programmes as well as various downstream initiatives that support increasing the added value of the agricultural and industrial sectors. “Through this activity, President Prabowo wants to ensure that the strengthening of the food sector is carried out in an integrated manner, from increasing production, providing assistance to farmers, to downstream processing so that it can provide greater added value for the welfare of the community,” Seskab Teddy continued. The working visit is part of the government’s commitment to continue boosting agricultural productivity, strengthening downstream processing, and realising sustainable food self-sufficiency. Accompanying President Prabowo on the flight to East Java Province were Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency Nusron Wahid, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
