President Prabowo Subianto hosted a gathering with his former bodyguards and aides from his military service at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java. The meeting took place on Sunday, 8 March 2026, with eight former personnel in attendance.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the former aides and bodyguards had previously served alongside Prabowo at the Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad) and Special Forces Command (Kopassus) during his active service in the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) approximately 30 years ago.

“President Prabowo Subianto called upon and held a gathering with all his former aides and bodyguards from his service at Kostrad and Kopassus, when he was still active in the TNI 30 years ago. The gathering took place at the President’s private residence in Hambalang,” Teddy stated in a written statement on Monday, 9 March 2026.

According to Teddy, the former personnel have pursued diverse career paths since their service as Prabowo’s aides and bodyguards. Some remain on active military duty whilst others have retired from service.

During the gathering, the former bodyguards shared their life stories with Prabowo. One attendee recounted how Prabowo had financed his son’s education, and the son had subsequently graduated and secured employment.

Beyond the reunion with his former personnel, President Prabowo convened five separate policy meetings at Hambalang on the same day, each addressing different topics. Teddy reported that Prabowo requested his ministers to provide briefings on strategic domestic and international issues.

The first meeting discussed cooperation on the construction of ten new campuses across Indonesia. The second meeting addressed the development of existing universities in the country, focusing on improving their global rankings and expanding partnerships with leading universities worldwide.

The third meeting focused on the situation in the Middle East, following military operations by the United States and Israel against Iran that resulted in casualties among regional leaders. The fourth meeting examined developments involving Palestinian students studying at the Defence University. The final meeting covered security measures and logistical arrangements for the annual migration ahead of Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
