President Prabowo Instructs TNI Commander to Check Pindad Excavators for Distribution to Regions

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has asked TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto to check the availability of excavators produced by Pindad to be distributed to regional governments in support of the national cleanliness movement.

“Check with Pindad how many excavators there are, Commander, and distribute them to all the regencies. Distribute all the excavators and dump trucks — we will support it all,” Prabowo said at the mass handing-over ceremony for Sejahtera subsidised mortgages under the FLPP scheme in Batang, Central Java, on Thursday.

The provision of heavy equipment and waste transport fleets is considered crucial to accelerate waste management and the mass tidying up of residential areas.

President Prabowo stressed that handling waste and maintaining the aesthetics of regions is an important investment in strengthening the tourism sector and the nation’s competitiveness.

“This is a very important national campaign. Our nation must be clean, our nation must be beautiful, and our nation’s environment must be preserved,” the President said.

Besides preparing heavy equipment, the President also instructed the Ministry of Agriculture to prepare plant nurseries to support greening efforts in the regions.

“If the number of trees has greatly diminished, we will plant hundreds of millions of trees. I have asked the Minister of Agriculture to set up nurseries — I need good quality tree seedlings for all our cities and regencies,” Prabowo said.

The environmental improvement drive is targeted to resolve the problem of illegal waste dumping across Indonesia within the next one to two years.

A number of state officials attended the mass mortgage ceremony in Batang, including Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni, Head of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Rini Widyantini, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Attorney General ST Burhanuddin.

Also present were Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
