Jakarta (ANTARA) - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto inspected temporary housing (huntara) built by the government for disaster victims in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh, on Saturday, after carrying out a series of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah prayers.

Monitored via the YouTube broadcast of the Cabinet Secretariat from Jakarta on Saturday, President Prabowo arrived at the huntara location after performing halal bihalal with the congregation of Masjid Darussalam and surrounding residents.

During the inspection, the Head of State, accompanied by Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian and Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf, entered one of the huntara units to directly view the facilities provided by the government. Inside the housing, the President chatted with family members of the temporary residents.

There was a unique moment as the President was about to leave the location. When preparing to put on his shoes outside the house, the President appeared to lean on the shoulder of Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, who was waiting outside.

A similar moment had previously been seen when the President performed Eid al-Fitr prayers at Istiqlal Mosque last year.

After leaving the huntara area, President Prabowo shook hands with residents who had queued to greet the Head of State directly, before continuing his journey using the official vehicle MV3 Garuda Limousine.

Earlier, President Prabowo performed Eid prayers with around 1,300 congregants at Masjid Darussalam at 07:30 WIB, under tight but inclusive security with the community.

The construction of huntara in Aceh Tamiang itself is a government priority through the Ministry of Public Works (PU). The Ministry of PU has built at least 20 blocks of huntara consisting of around 240 units in two different locations, namely Bundar Village and another location.

The Ministry of PU is also accelerating the addition of huntara at four new points in the Aceh Tamiang region. This step is in line with President Prabowo’s directives to ensure that all disaster-affected residents who previously lived in refugee tents can soon occupy more decent housing before the Lebaran period ends.

The selection of huntara occupants is based on data from the local government and the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), with a primary focus on post-disaster recovery in the Sumatra region.
