President Prabowo Subianto took time to directly inspect the refuelling of B50 biodiesel at a petrol station. During the visit, he also engaged in dialogue with vehicle drivers.

The inspection took place after Prabowo officiated the launch of B50 at the KM 57 Rest Area on the Cikampek Toll Road in Karawang, West Java. Accompanied by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia and Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri, Prabowo began the inspection by visiting a truck that had been trialled using B50.

Prabowo was seen greeting and shaking hands with the drivers, engaging in warm conversation. The inspection then continued to the B50 refuelling point. A unique moment occurred when a vehicle user showed a card to the attendant before refuelling. After the attendant checked it, the refuelling process proceeded while the driver chatted with Prabowo.

Prabowo then called his ministers to observe the refuelling process and discussed it with his cabinet members. Among the ministers present were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman along with his deputy Sudaryono, Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani.

Prabowo stated that the launch of B50 is not just a technological achievement but proof that Indonesia can utilise its natural wealth independently. “With the launch of this programme, Indonesia officially becomes the first country in the world to implement a B50 biodiesel mandate,” Prabowo said. He emphasised that this is a crucial milestone on the path to energy self-sufficiency.
