President Prabowo Subianto carried out a marathon working visit to East Java Province on Tuesday (23/6). In a single-day trip, the Head of State combined an agenda of strengthening national infrastructure with attending a strategic religious forum on Madura Island. According to information from the Presidential Secretariat’s Press, Media, and Information Bureau (BPMI), President Prabowo departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta aboard the presidential aircraft at around 9.00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. Upon arrival in East Java, the first point of visit was Sampang Regency. In Sampang, the President was scheduled to inaugurate a regional road project covering a total length of 1,151 kilometres. This project is a realisation of the Presidential Instruction on Regional Roads (IJD), which aims to improve connectivity in various remote parts of Indonesia. The development is expected to serve as a driver for local economic growth by facilitating logistics distribution and inter-regional public accessibility. The government has emphasised that strengthening regional road infrastructure is key to reducing national logistics costs. Following the agenda in Sampang, the President continued his journey to Bangkalan Regency. There, the Head of State attended the closing of the Alim Ulama National Conference (Munas) and the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Grand Conference (Konbes) 2026, centred at the Syaichona Mohammad Cholil Islamic Institute. The President’s presence at NU’s second-highest forum after the Muktamar reaffirmed the importance of synergy between the government and religious scholars in maintaining national stability and formulating the direction of the nation’s development.
